Apple, Pear & Ginger Tonic

You don’t need a fancy juicer to make this recipe! I love drinking this in the morning (cold), but you could also make this and heat it up in the evening during fall or winter months.

The ginger and cinnamon add anti-inflammatory super foods to this juice, so not only does it taste good, but it makes your belly happy!

Ingredients

1 apple, peeled and cut into chunks

1 pear, peeled and cut into chunks

1 thumb sized piece of ginger, peeled

½ lemon, juiced

1 tsp cinnamon (or a dash of cinnamon on top)

Directions

1.  Combine the lemon juice, fruit chunks and ginger into a high-powered blender.

2.  Add ½ cup of water.

3.  Blend on high until pureed.

4.  Strain, using a fine mesh strainer, into a bowl or jar to discard the pulp. I like to strain mine over a measuring cup so that its easy to pour into a glass afterwards.

5.  Heat the juice on the stove for a warm tonic, or enjoy room temperature!
